We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist senior chefs in food preparation, maintain high standards of food quality and hygiene, and contribute to smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning food.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Ensure proper food storage and stock rotation (FIFO).
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist with receiving and storing kitchen supplies.
- Support senior chefs during busy service hours.
- Help minimize food waste and maintain portion control.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Requirements
- 0–1 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
